Clean Mobility

At VC Fuel, we believe that clean mobility products, infrastructure, and services will be central to a decarbonized future. While we believe the market for clean mobility products is well served in some areas (such as electric vehicle production), we focus on technologies, products, infrastructure and services that enhance the efficiency, customer experience, and cost of EVs and other clean transportation solutions.

Among the areas of the clean mobility ecosystem that we focus on are the following:

• EV and other clean vehicle charging technology and infrastructure
• Innovations around Materials and Mining necessary for battery and electric motor manufacturing
• New battery technologies, including building new cathode materials as well as batteries themselves
• Other opportunities surrounding the clean mobility ecosystem, including supporting software applications, recycling opportunities, and financing solutions

Advances in clean mobility also benefit the decarbonization of key areas of energy consumption, including the electricity grid itself. Enhanced battery storage (both in scale and duration) as well as storing clean fuels such as hydrogen can serve a building blocks for grid level storage. The storage technologies driven by the green mobility sector are critical to moving to a zero carbon electric grid, where batteries and other solutions such as hydrogen serve as backup sources of power, replacing coal and natural gas.
